New from Gryphon Games!

 Releasing in September!

GRY101325
Cowtown
$ 14.99 SRP

A game to play ‘til the cows come home! Designer Richard Borg has given us many games but is best known for his “Commands & Colors System” of games like: Battle Cry, Memoir ’44 and BattleLore. Liars Dice (aka Bluff) won the Spiel des Jahres in 1993. Now for a change of pace, he gives us Cowtown …. Yeehaw! All the cows have left the nearby ranches and headed down to Cowtown for a little ‘cow’-rousing. But things have gotten out of hoof and now you cowpokes need to get these herding heavies back in line. You’ll need to make the right moooves to corral these cows before udder madness prevails in Cowtown. The object of Cowtown is to have the most scorecows when the game ends. In general, you gain the most scorecows by being the first player each round to get rid of your cards. Players get rid of cards by playing cards numbered one higher than the card face up on any stack. If the card is the same color, the play is safe; but if it's not, it is a “bullish play”. A “bullish play” means that the player must turn the top card on the draw deck face up onto the discard pile. If the revealed card has a red Bull's Eye, that player must draw a card. Players may also play multiples of the same numbered cards, called a “Horn-to-Tail Sequence”, or multiples of the same numbered cards, called a “Stampede”, in order to reduce their hand size even faster!

Coming Soon!

GRY101280
Blockers!
$ 19.99 SRP

A minute to learn, a lifetime of fun! Blockers! is an exciting abstract strategy game that can be enjoyed by the whole family. Strategize! Block! Capture! Win! The goal of Blockers! is to create connected groups of your own tiles on the board, while trying not to capture too many tiles of the same color. A group is any connected set of like-colored tiles on the board. Diagonal connections don't count. A tile that isn't next to any tiles of the same color also counts as a group. At the end of the game, you'll count the number of groups you have on the board, and the number of tiles you have of the color that you captured the most, and whoever has the fewest of these two things combined wins.

New From Gryphon Games!

Coming in February

GRY101318N
Caveman Curling
$ 49.99 SRP

In Caveman Curling each team attempts to "throw" or flick their rocks, one at a time, down the frozen lake. Special objects such as hammers, which allow the rocks to be moved after the throw, and totems, which protect a thrown rock from being moved, add an extra layer of strategy to the game. Play consists of rounds at the end of which each team or player scores a point for each of their rocks closer to the center of the cave than any of their opponent's rocks. The first team or player to six points wins!

GRY101320N

Then cut it into slices dominated by your ingredients. Of course your opponents are trying to do the same thing. Choosing the right places to slice will get you victory and all the pizza you can eat, while making the wrong choices will cost you the win and leave you hungering for more.

GRY101311N
Santiago de Cuba
$39.99 SRP
UPC 609456646536

Welcome to Santiago -- Cuba's second largest city. The chaotic streets hum with the sounds of bustling crowds and busy commerce. Cargo ships constantly arrive and depart from the port. Demand is continuous, if unpredictable, for a supply of local products such as exotic fruits, sugar, rum, tobacco, and cigars.

Your business card says “broker”, but in reality you're a shady wheeler-dealer who arranges deals with the locals and with corruptible officials to move goods and meet the demand of those ever-present cargo ships. Your ability to procure these goods is only as reliable as your “connections”. If you are the best at seizing the ever changing opportunities that arise and if you invest your limited money more wisely than your fellow brokers, you'll win.

Supply and demand for goods is constantly changing, as are the locals and their locations. Each time you play you will face new tactical challenges in the vibrant Caribbean world that is Santiago de Cuba.

EGL101307N
New England Railways
$59.99 SRP

Players are investors who risk their businesses and money on this new technology as they build railway links through the mountains and over the rivers of historic New England.

New England Railways puts players in the roles of those who built the railroads that linked the booming industries of 1800s New England--from the shipbuilders of Connecticut to the forests of Maine; from the fisheries of Massachusetts through the mountains of New Hampshire and on to the foundries of Albany. Railroads are expensive propositions. Indeed, players must borrow money from banks to amass the necessary capital to build these railways. Can they make a profit while paying the interest on these loans, and indeed, even while paying them off?

This is also a game of walking a financial tightrope, maintaining a careful cash flow from the railroad's profits, thus enriching the players, while constantly and vigilantly servicing those bank loans. The risks are huge and some overly brash investors will rapidly find themselves in a quicksand of debt; while other, more careful players will reap handsome profits.

New Gryphon Games Announced

Coming in September and October

GRY101306N
Zong Shi
$64.99 SRP

3-5 Players
60-90 Minutes
Ages 13+

In a large town in old China, several talented artisans, Masters in their own right, aspire to become recognized as Zong Shi—the Grand Master craftsman.

You are one of these Master artisans, and together with your Apprentice, you are competing with the other Masters to attain this elevated status in the town. To succeed, you’ll have to impress the townspeople with your skills. How will you do it? Will you acquire a specialist’s mastery over certain material, or will you enlarge your workshop? Will you create a large number of smaller projects or will you build fewer, but greater, masterworks? That is for you to decide.

GRY101056N
Cant Stop
$34.99 SRP

Designed by the legendary Sid Sackson, Can’t Stop is the ultimate press-your-luck board game.

Once you've started this intense dice game, you just can't stop! You’ll go for the dice again and again only to risk losing it all on a single roll. Players try to win three of the eleven number columns as quickly as possible. To do this, they roll the four dice and form two pairs, which determine the columns on which they may first place the white cones (the runners). During their turn, players may roll the dice as long as they wish –provided that they can place or move at least one of the runners. If, after rolling the dice, a player is unable to do so, his turn ends immediately and he loses everything that he achieved during that turn. He should have stopped in time... but he didn’t!

Everybody likes to try just once more... and then maybe once more... they CAN’T STOP! CAN YOU?

GRY101308N
Bazaar
$25.99 SRP

Through skillful trading and re-trading, each player attempts to gain the right combination of colored stones from the Bank to purchase the wares displayed in the Bazaar. Values of the various wares are determined by the number of stones the purchaser holds following his transaction. Trading is governed by the current rates posted at the Exchange. When all the wares from two of the stalls have been sold, the Bazaar is closed, the game ends and the player with the highest score wins!

New from Gryphon Games

Coming in September
**Retailers - Please note this game is an ACD Exclusive!  **

GRY101305N
The Road To Canterbury
$59.99 SRP

2-3 Players
Ages 10+
45-60 Minutes Playtime

In The Road to Canterbury, each player is “the Pardoner,” traveling with seven of Chaucer’s pilgrims from London to Canterbury. Each Pilgrim is afflicted with one of the seven deadly sins, thus having need of your indulgences. Using relic, sin and pardon cards, each Pardoner tries to “save” the pilgrims from their sins and the eternal consequences. For you to succeed as a pardoner, you’ll need to do more than just sell forged pardons for quick cash. To keep your services in demand, you will actually need to lead these Pilgrims into temptation yourself! Perhaps some phony relics might help? There is also one big catch. The Seven Deadly Sins live up to their name: each sin that a Pilgrim commits brings Death one step nearer, and a dead Pilgrim pays no pardoners!

Gryphon Games Adds A New Title

Coming in June

GRY101290N
Mirror, Mirror
$34.99 SRP

You've entrusted your nine courtiers to deliver a beautiful love letter to Princess Persephone, but your opponent also has nine courtiers delivering an equally moving love letter to the same princess! In each case, eight letters are decoys and only the letter with the red seal is the "true" love letter. Intercept your rival's true love letter to make sure that only your letter sways her affections.

In Mirror Mirror each of the three types of Character pieces carries a letter, has a mirror on the back of the piece, and has a special way of moving on the board similar to chess. When your piece lands on an opponent's piece, you must say what color seal is on its letter. If correct, that piece is removed from play; otherwise your piece is removed from play.

Choose carefully and make liberal use of your mirrors to discover the color of the seals on your opponent's pieces before venturing to intercept their letters.
